How to Start an Employment Agency

By Alice Sy

If you are on the lookout for a new business to establish in Hong Kong, why not consider putting up an employment agency, particularly a domestic helper agency. The potential of a business like this is big especially now that the demand for housemaids in HK is high. Should you feel interested in getting into this type of business, here are some of the things to consider:

Take a look at your budget. No business can be established without a capital. There will be a need to buy some equipment and materials, and employ people who will make up your staff.

Observe the movements of your business rivals. Try to do your best in coming up with a competitive business. Draw out information on how much they charge and based on that, set up your own rating system.

Secure all the necessary permits. Apply for the required documents. Without them, your business will not be legitimate. Know which essential papers you need to process to be able to operate soon.

Make a decision on where your location will be. Remember that your business location should be convenient not just for you but for the applicants as well who will be interested to process an application with you. If your home is in a good location, you can consider putting up your office there to save money and time.

Apply for a dedicated phone line. As much as possible, this phone should only be used for business purposes. Keep it open for your clients and applicants. You can also choose to divert the calls to your residential phone after working hours. Hiring an answering service is also a good idea or you can simply install a voice mail or an answering machine to resolve this.

Plan out the marketing strategy that you are going to use. To market your services effectively, you can start hiring marketers or create ads which you can post on various classified ads. That way, you can publicize your business through HK. Your office staff can also serve as your part-time marketers by asking them for referrals which will make them earn cash rewards.

Job orders should be continuous; lest, you won't have anything to offer to your applicants. The more job orders there are means more business, and more business means more income and more help you can give to those people who need jobs. - 15254

5 Biggest Mistakes of New Internet Marketers

By Amy Nutt

Internet marketing has become increasingly popular over the past few years and many people are just starting to venture into earning money online. Unfortunately, if you don`t know what you`re doing, you`ll be quite likely to make some mistakes that could cost you big time. Being aware of what the biggest mistakes that newbies make is a good step toward being successful.

Here, we`ll be looking at the top five mistakes that internet marketers make in their first year. By understanding what goes wrong, you will be better able to avoid these same errors yourself.

1. Underestimating the workload. If you believe everything you read online, it seems that you can simply throw up an automated website, grab some email addresses and you`re off to the races. Unfortunately, the real world doesn't work that way. Even the big name gurus who would like you to believe that you can magically rake in the money overnight had to work at it. Internet marketing is definitely a good way to earn money and it can eventually become relatively passive income, but you definitely need to put in the work at the beginning to make it work.

2. Jumping into the "earn money online" niche. Just look around the internet and you`ll find hundreds of people telling you how to earn money online. How many of these people actually earned money online before telling others how to do it? You`d be amazed at how many internet marketers are struggling, even as they attempt to lead others. If you aren`t earning online, don`t even think about trying to teach others. Look for a niche that is less competitive and one that you can actually stand out in.

3. Throwing money at the problem. Every business requires some start up money, but that doesn't mean you have to go crazy about it. You can learn a lot online just by reading articles and then making a few well thought out purchases. Most newbie internet marketers go ahead and start up pay per click campaigns to help drive traffic. While PPC can be a great way to bring in traffic, if you don`t fully understand how to use it, you`ll just end up losing money. Take the time to research and understand where your money is going.

4. Being too general. A sporting goods website might do alright, but in most cases, there is just too much competition for general ideas. Instead, look for micro-niches, like "protective sports footwear", which will have less competition and still a healthy amount of traffic. It pays to get specific. Even if you are thinking of doing this with several micro-niches, stick to one until it works, then you can branch out.

5. Giving up too soon. It`s a sad fact that most new internet marketers give up just before they could have been successful. Just because your idea didn't hit pay dirt in the first week doesn't mean it`s a bad idea. If you continue on, you`ll likely find that with a bit more publicity and hard work, you can make it happen, just so long as you stick with the original idea.

Internet marketing isn't quite as easy as the gurus make it sound, though it is definitely a great way to earn a living. As long as you go into it with realistic expectations and ready to stick with your plans and ideas for the long haul, you are quite likely to find success. Make sure you do your research, investigating everything you can on your topic and then just go on and do it. You`ll never succeed if you don`t try. - 15254

Chiropractic Video Marketing Made Ridiculously Simple

By Matthew Loop, DC

When they first originated, I don't think anyone could've imagined just how lucrative and powerful social networking websites like YouTube, Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter were going to be for business growth and exposure. When I introduced social media and simple video marketing to the chiropractic profession three years ago, I was confident that these Web 2.0 platforms would change the face of marketing as we knew it. With that confidence, I still could not have predicted the explosion that has taken place globally in such a short amount time.

Discovering how to leverage social media and video marketing for my chiropractic practice was one of the best things that I could've ever done. As many are aware, this type of marketing / advertising is free so there is virtually no risk to the chiropractor. In 2005, I first began meeting and interacting with people from my local community on Myspace. I was literally meeting 50 people every single day which was getting me tons of free traffic exposure very fast. Initially, I was testing and tweaking certain things on my profile for greater conversions and how I was presenting myself. Then, I began to notice the phone calls and the new patients coming it. I have to say, I was pretty thrilled when this began to happen.

Marketing on social media can yield instant results but it's absolutely phenomenal for positioning yourself in the long-term! It's similar to planting seeds within the community and getting into every nook-and-cranny possible. If you set yourself up correctly, you can brand yourself as an authority in whatever specialty you choose and gain trust and credibility with your community. Then, you can keep tabs and consistently build top-of-the-mind awareness with the friends and subscriber lists that you've built. The avalanche occurs after you've amassed several thousand people that you keep in touch with regularly that need you or refer new patients to your chiropractic practice for the conditions that you treat.

Perhaps the greatest goldmine that I discovered for chiropractic marketing and other forms of marketing is online video submission. When you make and upload online videos, it's a simple and easy thing you can do that yields huge results in your chiropractic practice and its popularity in your community. There are a couple tricks to learn though, like how to properly compress your video through Windows Movie Maker or iMovie. It's vital that you do this before trying to upload to YouTube or video sharing sites.

Videos get indexed extremely well by search engines, if you understand basic and advanced optimization strategies. I've been able to drive massive amounts of highly-targeted visitors to my website with video, which has basically made me a local celebrity. In conjunction, I've been able to bring in many new patients that have seen my direct response videos. They feel like they know me before they ever step into my office. They are able to follow me on my channels to get new health information, as I overwhelm them with consistent value and not spam-based advertisement.

There has never been a better time to begin to learn chiropractic video marketing for your practice. In fact, did you know that over 50% of all online content today is video? More and more folks turn to and search the internet every day for solutions to their aches and pains. If they begin to see you blanket the search engines, this will build social proof just by the sheer number of listings and videos that you have. You can be your own PR machine and untouchable by the competition.

Take people on a journey with you through your office and in many different locations. I always bring my video camera and tripod with me wherever I go because I never know when I'm going to have a great idea for an educational or promotion video for my chiropractic practice or other business ventures. I've shot videos at the office, at home, in Costa Rica, at the golf course, in the mountains, on the ocean, and many other locations. Viewers love to tag-along with you on your journey and see a change of scenery. Also, in my opinion, natural light is the best and most flattering.

It's important that you put out 1-2 videos a month as a minimum. This is how you can canvas the search engines and come up in multiple places. You must keep pumping out material so that your position stays strong in search engines. There's no need to outsource your videos because it will cost a lot of money and it's so easy to do yourself.

Make sure you're relaxed and having a good time while making these videos. You want to present yourself as being the warm, professional, and friendly person that you are. That way, people will feel like they know you, and they'll want to stop in to your office and utilize your services.

You truly do need a good chiropractic coach that understands the current marketing climate, and how modern technology and communications function for chiropractors today. Find a coach that specializes in chiropractic marketing utilizing web 2.0 and social media sharing sites. There's no use finding someone who specializes in anything else. Once you find the right mentor, fasten your seat belt because your practice is about to explode on the internet! - 15254

Creating a Profitable Blog

By Randy The Hermit

There are several types of business models that entrepreneurs use to make money blogging.

The first and most common way to turn a blog into a profit making machine is to sell advertising to different companies and brands who want to reach that blog's readers.

A similar but different method is to blog on a certain topic or in a certain niche wher you can suggest products or services to your readers in exchange for a commission.

Both kinds of blogs can make a lot of money, especially if the creator has a keen mind for marketing.

If you are blogging with the goal of selling advertising, there are two basic ways that you can go about recruiting sponsors who want to put ads on your site; you can let someone else do all of the legwork, or you can do the work yourself and keep all of the revenue.

Within the first group, many people make money blogging by selling space through Google's AdSense program.

This saves you the work of finding prospects and recruiting them to your advertising program.

Unfortunately, most people expect to make thousands a month with this type service and the are usually disappointed by much lower income.

Recruiting your own sponsors can definitely provide a better source of income but it can take time to find people that want to put sponsored links and banners on your blog.

If you have been in the industry that covers the topic of your blog you might find this a bit easier to accomplish if you contact your existing contacts.

People who have a strong background in sales and are experienced at pitching proposals can make quite a bit of money by renting blog space to interested companies.

The most serious problem with this model is that you often have to build quite a sizable readership before you can attract advertisers, which can mean that you have to do several months of work before you start to make money blogging.

Today people, companies and even politicians are aware of the power of a blog and they are all trying to carve out their own little section of the blogosphere.

Some companies have their own blogs that they run in house to provide information about their products and services.

Sometimes companies will look for bloggers with experience to design a blog specifically for them that either builds a relationship for the customer or creates brand recognition or works as a presell for their products.

It isn't uncommon for a blogger that is getting a lot of exposure to be approached by a company and suddenly find that their blog is making them a good income. - 15254

What is an MLM company for anyway?

By Dennis Hampton

If you are like most people you probably got into a network marketing business because you wanted to work at home and have the opportunity to make a lot of money. Or, maybe you joined because you loved your company's products. But, nobody told you it was going to be this hard. In fact, they said it would be easy.

Most MLM companies teach their people to make a list of one hundred names and start making phone calls. And they wonder why 95% of the people that join their MLM business fail. Maybe it is because only 5% of the people who join a network marketing business know enough people who are interested in a work at home business.

Why don't the top people tell you this when you start? There are a variety of reasons. Some of them joined and succeeded with the "old school" methods because they have been with the company ten or twenty years. Many of them used classified ads which were in those days what the internet is now. But they only tell you how to prospect your "warm market" and pass out business cards to strangers because many times this is what the company approves.

But they only tell you how to prospect your "warm market" and pass out business cards to strangers because many times this is what the company approves.

Purchasing network marketing leads is another option, but the problem with that is that you don't know how these leads were created. Many times the lead capture pages are so misleading or vague that people don't know what they are signing up for. If you have ever tried to call these MLM leads, you know that often they hang up on you as soon as they figure out that you are calling about an MLM business.

If you have ever tried to call these MLM leads, you know that often they hang up on you as soon as they figure out that you are calling about an MLM business.

This is why you create a generic lead system that brands you and not any specific MLM companies. This allows you to comply with your company's rules and still benefit from an incredible lead generating system. These people know exactly what they are getting into and are sincerely interested in working from home with your MLM business before you even speak to them for the first time. How much easier would it be to talk to people who are already interested, not only in working from home, not only in an MLM business, but specifically in working with you in your MLM business? This is the true beauty of generating your own network marketing leads. - 15254

Do You Use Your Subconscious Mind To Achieve What You Want?

By Ray Stendall

The subconscious mind is one of our greatest assets. It is the home of our intellectual factors that include: reason, intuition, imagination, perception, memory and the will. When we use the subconscious mind correctly, we can create anything that is in harmony with natural universal law.

The subconscious mind is completely deductive in nature, unlike the conscious mind, which is both inductive and deductive. The subconscious mind will believe anything that is impressed upon it with emotion in a consistent manner. It will even believe a lie if it is repeated often enough. Understanding this concept represents the first step in taking control of your subconscious mind so you can pursue your dreams.

The next step to effectively use your subconscious mind is to know exactly what you want and why you want it. This process of conceptualization and clarification is critical, because the subconscious mind only gets involved when it is sure you mean business! Being serious about a goal prompts an emotional response inside you. It is when emotion mixes with clarity that the subconscious mind can act on your desires. Answer these critical thinking questions:

Do you really know what you want? Can you see it clearly in your mind down to the smallest detail? Have you written it down in a clear and concise manner? Do you know why you want it? Do you believe you can obtain it? Are you willing to do whatever it takes legally and ethically to cause the manifestation of the goal?

To move forward you must be able to answer the above questions with a resounding YES! Next you want to clearly see on the screen of your mind your objective. You must begin the process of associating deeper emotions with the objective. Deep emotions can be created through using your five senses and the process of autosuggestion.

Let me give you an example of how this works: Lets suppose you want a new car. You must see the car, feel the car, drive the car, listen to the stereo, touch the soft leather and enjoy your favorite beverage while in the car to create an emotionalized memory. You might even want to rent the car so that you can actually feel the experience of driving it and really fix in your mind what it would be like to own it.

An emotionalized memory will last for a period of time as you go about your daily business. To enhance and feed your mind more emotional fuel, it is wise to take pictures, video and record your thoughts about the experience so that you can strengthen your emotionalized memory of the experience. Daily, spend time impressing these thoughts and feelings upon your subconscious mind including, what you want and why you want it. Do this with a loud confident voice as you relive the newly created memory.

By following this process, you will take your burning desire and turn it into a white hot burning desire as Napoleon Hill likes to say. This white hot burning desire together with your subconscious mind will increase your awareness for people and things that can help you move in the direction of your dreams. I have used this technique for 20+ years and it works like clockwork. Give it a try today! - 15254

Human Resources: The Benefits for Your Business

By Amy Nutt

Most small businesses don`t even consider using human resources, but it`s not uncommon to find larger companies ignoring this potentially beneficial area, as well. Human resource consulting can be a very useful way to improve your business by keeping your employees happy and productive and maintaining a smooth running business.

Why Use Human Resource Consulting

The main reason to use HR consulting is simply to save time. We all have a finite amount of time and it`s often better to outsource things like payroll and risk management policies. Of course, human resources is the best way to go for this type of outsourcing, since it tends to be of a rather delicate nature and you don`t want just anyone going over employee information in order to do the payroll.

It can take time and a lot of energy to implement new human resource technologies that businesses need. Most business owners find that it is far more efficient to hire someone to get everything up and running. It may be temporary, but the time and effort saved will be of great benefit to the busy business owner.

Anyone can come up with employee benefits and packages, but you are quite likely to miss something if you don`t have experience in the area and attempt it on your own. This is where an HR consult can be very useful.

Your human resources representative has plenty of experience in the area of creating benefits packages and the like. By having a consult done, you`ll save a lot of time and effort and you can be sure that you are doing the best for your employees. Happy employees mean loyal employees and if you give them a good reason to stay loyal, you can avoid the turnaround that too many businesses are experiencing these days. This isn`t a good area to start experimenting with on your own, however, at least not if you want results.

Benefits of Consult Over Full Time

If your business is working on a tight budget, you probably don`t have the money to hire a full time human resources director. Opting to hire a consultant will give you similar benefits without the expense, since the HR consultant will come in and advise you once. You can then implement the suggestions made, without ongoing expense.

This method of using human resource experts is preferred by many, but you do lose the chance to be flexible, since you won`t be adapting to any changes within the workplace that could have a dynamic effect on employee benefits. However, considering the cost of hiring a full time HR expert, most businesses find that it is sufficient to bring in a human resources consultant from time to time to maintain their technology and techniques up to date.

Outsourcing human resourcing is a very good way to keep your business running well without the added expense of another employee, something that most companies simply cannot afford yet. A human resources consultation is particularly useful for any business undergoing growth.

Whenever new employees will be coming into the company, it`s a good idea to have everything in place ahead of time. This includes risk management factors to keep everyone safe and sound on the job, as well as implementing new methods of dealing with the larger payroll.

Whether you plan to hire a full time HR director or just bring someone in for the time being to get everything straightened out once and for all, this is a good move for any business. The benefits are many and your business will end up running far better because of it. - 15254

Six Sigma Jobs Are Plentiful

By Craig Calvin

The importance of Six Sigma has been well understood by many companies. They undertake Six Sigma initiatives to make it a culture in their companies. These companies have accepted the need for a disciplined approach to problem solving and continuous improvement. This is possible only when they have trained employees who can undertake the responsibilities associated with such a Six Sigma initiative. There are various jobs available in the industry, based on the expertise and the experience achieved over a specific period of time. Some organizations employ various experts as permanent employees, while some seek the services of expert consultants.

Every company has its own staffing needs for its particular niche in the business world. While the jobs may be similar to one another from company to company, each business may provide different names to them. Just as the names may differ, there will likely be some variance in the requirements for each. Some companies prefer to train within, promoting existing staff they want to place in leadership positions, while some prefer to hire outside experts. Senior positions such as a Six Sigma Black Belt graduate may hold, may refer to a higher level program manager. These graduates have the experience and expertise to undertake management of projects at various levels in the organization.

Black Belt certificate holders have received extensive training on Six Sigma methodologies like DMAIC and DFSS, and as such, they hold an important position in the company's organizational structure. These experts understand statistics and the indicators that the data provides. The organization may choose to hire them from the outside, or to train an existing employee in the Six Sigma discipline. Often if a company is growing and there is an ongoing need for more experienced people, the company may hire a Black Belt to come on board to train the upcoming leaders who are already on staff.

Organizations may not advertise Master Black Belts and Black Belts positions. They may name them differently - Program Manager, Six Sigma analyst, Functional Project Lead, Lead Analyst, Business Process manager and so on. These positions require the person selected to be certified as a Green Belt, Black Belt or Master Black Belt depending on the level of the position. It is the Six Sigma Black Belts' skills that will be considered as criteria for the different positions. Furthermore, they may have other requirements such as expertise in the same industry. They may be required to have management training and experience, when the role may be to have a project lead or Master Black Belts.

No matter what the position, candidates today need to have a deep understanding of Six Sigma with a proven ability to apply their skills to positive results in project management. Creative skills are also needed, which will help when conceptualizing issues and designing business proposals. Six Sigma jobs exist today in industries all across the spectrum, and they all require the skills and determination to help companies develop processes that will lead to more profits. - 15254

The Job Interview - What to Expect

By Carole Martin, The Interview Coach

A one-on-one job interview is the most familiar and common format. This is where two people sit down to have a conversation. This conversation has a particular purpose: to determine whether there is a fit between the person interviewing, the applicant, and the job available. Both parties will leave this conversation with some kind of a judgment.

The interview begins instantly when the two people see one another. This is a nonverbal judgment made by both parties. Next, is the handshake. Is it weak, or firm and comfortable. These two people, the applicant and the interviewer, then sit down, most likely in an office setting, and begin to converse. After an initial bit of chit-chat or warm up, the questions begin.

"Tell me about yourself," is often the first question asked to begin the conversation in a job interview. The information the applicant reveals when answering this question and throughout the interview allows the interviewer to get a picture of the person, and certain pictures or patterns begin emerge. Each time a new subject is mentioned, the interviewer may dig a little further, and the picture about this applicant becomes more focused.

The interviewer listens to hear about past experiences that can be applied to solving the problems of the job in question through prior behavior questions such as, "Tell me about your experience with ." The applicant must be prepared to talk about achievements and past behaviors, and have examples of experiences mentioned. If the applicant says, "I am very detail-oriented," or "I am an analytical problem-solver," the applicant must have examples to back the claims.

For example, the applicant might say, "I have excellent written communication skills." The interviewer is now able to follow up on this subject. The interviewer might ask, "What type of writing have you done?" Or, "Tell me about a project you have worked on involving written communication skills?" If the applicant is not prepared with good examples, or success stories, there might be a credibility problem. Saying you can do something, and giving an example of when you have done it, are two different things.

Often times there will be a succession of one-on-one interviews within the same company. Interviewers are attempting to get a picture of the applicant's abilities to perform in the position that is available. They are also looking to see how the applicant would fit into the company culture. The interview process may begin with the human resources department, then move on to an interview with a prospective boss, or hiring manager. It may then continue down the line to other members of a department, and can sometimes include a CEO.

The job applicant must be able to present good examples, and tell about past successes in each one-on-one conversation. When this is done the applicant can leave the interview knowing that he or she has communicated a picture that is positive and accurate no matter how many conversations it takes. - 15254

Get Out Of Your Own Way To Achieve Great Results In Your Life

By Christina Helwig

Its hard to admit, but the biggest obstacle we have with change is ourselves. We set up roadblocks and resistance to letting go of things that no longer serve us or cling tightly to past behaviors and mindsets because we are scared to let go. Embracing change requires something more than going through the motions.

It requires us to get out of our own way and let things happen. This process is by no means easy. A new habit is often uncomfortable and sometimes even painful. Thinking differently requires more mental effort than we are used to setting forth. Most of our thoughts and actions are on auto-pilot. We cycle through the same basic day over and over again.

We get up, eat breakfast, go to work, drive home, eat dinner, watch a little t.v. and then hop into bed and do it again the next day. If we are not careful, months and years slip through our fingers and we never really change anything in our lives. Real change requires us to look at our habits: both thought-habits and action-habits one by one.

We need to pick out habits that are not really doing anything to advance our lives and change them. Watching hours of t.v. is a a great example. All that time could be spent on learning new skills, taking a class or working on a business idea. While everyone watches some t.v. to decompress, this habit can quickly suck up a lot of time that can be put to better use.

I am sure you have heard that it takes 30 days to form a new habit. The key to forming a new habit is to make room for it in your life. If you want to spend more time at the gym you have to clear some time in your schedule and set up no fail systems to see that new habit through. A no fail system would be to leave something you need everyday at the gym so that you have to go there to pick it up the next day. Maybe a work project or your cell phone. No matter what you will drive back to the gym to get it. Hopefully, while youre there you will get in a workout.

Most of the problems with new habits comes in when we try to fight back against change because we are uncomfortable with it. Our minds and bodies like the old routine. It feels unnatural to do new actions or think new thoughts. This uncomfortable feeling goes away after time. Each day you exercise the new habit is a point in that category. It becomes stronger and the pull of the new action calls to you to continue it.

You have to let yourself feel the uncomfortable feelings and go through the process of change. To really make things happen you need to get to the point where you kind of like that uncomfortable feeling and you embrace it. That feeling lets you know that you are on to something and that your goal is on its way. Without that tiny bit or fear or discomfort you know that you are not pushing yourself and you are merely going through the motions of life. This is where getting out of your own way comes in. You will try to push back against that bad feeling instead of letting yourself experience it.

You will claim that you are just too tired, or its not really that important anyway and any number of additional excuses, just so that you do not have to go through the discomfort of a new habit. Stop fighting the new habit and just let it happen. Give yourself a command and follow it. Change one habit at a time and then pick another. No one thinks you have to be perfect but you. If you let go of perfection it makes life so much easier. - 15254

How Much do Portable Display Stands Cost on Average?

By Amy Nutt

Having a trade show display is something that more companies need to try. This is because a lot of people come to trade shows. They not only come to see what they can get their hands on, but they like to see what the different companies are offering. Yes, some do come just for the freebies, but there are plenty of individuals who come for the educational value of it all. That is why it is very important to have portable display stands as a part of your trade show display.

There are different types of portable display stands that you can use for your trade show display. It is basically up to you which you get. You can base it on your budget and your style.

Different types of display stands

First of all portable display stands can have several different holders. This means that you will be able to hold more than just one brochure or flyer. You're going to be able to hold much more than that. So here is a rundown of what you may encounter when looking for the right portable display stands for your trade show booth:

- You can get curved display stands or a literature rack that holds multiple pieces of literature for anywhere between $175 and $200. These are units that sit on the floor, but they can set up quickly. They usually fold up in some way.

- There are fabric displays that can cost you under $100.

- You can find tabletop displays for under $100 and still hold multiple pieces of literature.

- You may even find that a rotating magazine rack is the way in which you can display your literature. This is something that may still cost you anywhere from $90 to $125.

- There are lighted displays that may cost you around $500. This is one of the most expensive units you can invest in.

There are so many different types of display stands. What you pay depends on what your style and of course if you decide that display booth rentals is the way to go. You may choose something super sophisticated, which will come packed with a sophisticated price. Then again, you may choose something that is modest with a modest price. You have so many choices and so many price ranges to choose from. That means you're not going to have a hard time choosing the right display stands for your trade show booth.

Why use display stands?

When distributing literature, you don?t want to have to lay the literature down flat upon the table you're using in your trade show booth. This is because it gets knocked around and can look really messy. People will sit their things on top of them. Fanning them out on a table also means you're using up space that could be used to display your product or something else important. Even using a tabletop display stand will save a lot of room and keep things organized.

So for the sake of your image, it is a good idea to use portable display stands for your literature. That way you look really professional and people are able to freely grab information about you and your product. People like it when literature is made available to them and you're going to like it too. You?re going to like it because that means you have possible new customers. That means you're going to make even more money, which is made possible by setting up a trade show booth and being organized with that booth. That means you have made the trade show and your display work for you. It's just a matter of finding the materials that will serve you best. - 15254

Affiliate Marketing Basics

By Don Bethune

Affiliate marketing are a group of marketing programs which allow advertisers to reimburse webmasters for putting up advertisements on their webpage or within the e-mails they send. In the same way an particular company would pay for space in the newspaper or on a billboard, they pay for space on your website.

The simplicity of being participating in affiliate marketing programs has made it one of the most well known ways to earn income without leaving home. These programs allows just about anyone, housewives, the elderly, the homebound, to have their own 'home business' and gain monetary freedom.

So just how do advertisers pay the webmasters hosting their ads? First, it is important to understand how sites are ranked when someone searches the web. Simply, the more hits a website receives per day the higher it is listed when a user performs a web search with a search engine. This in turn makes a frequently visited website have even more hits.

The more traffic the site sees, the more likely a user is to click through the ad link on a website. Paying for ad space on these popular sites can potentially result in hundreds of new customers each day. Advertising space is therefore priced based on the hits that the website receives.

Advertisers using affiliate marketing programs pay based on the several types of actions that occur as a result of a website user clicking on their ad. Some pay per click, per thousand click, per action after click, per lead, per completion, and many others.

Similar analogies stand for the others. For example cost per thousand means getting paid for a thousand clicks of the advertisers adds and cost per action means getting paid everytime a certain action is performed. Cost per lead is similar to cost per action.

How do you as a webmaster choose the right affiliate marketing program for your websites? Many webmasters simply search the internet! The best way to determine which program best suits your site is to search for affiliate programs, evaluate the payments schedules offered, and determine if ad placement is suitable for your site based on size and location requirements.

Income from affiliate marketing can vary widely and is highly dependent on the number of hits your website receives. Another consideration is that part or all of the income generated may be considered taxable income on the city, state, or federal level; it is best to check with your local tax office. Regardless, the income potential is boundless and worth looking into if you have the space on your website. - 15254

An Increase In Your Memory Can Increase Your Happiness In Life

By Ray Stendall

Do you find that your memory fails you again and again? Would you like to understand how you can boost your memory? You will once you read and apply the ideas in this article. Your memory quite possibly is your most important intellectual factor. What are you doing to strengthen your memory on a regular basis?

The Importance Of Your Memory

Can you imagine your life with a nonexistent memory? How frustrating would be to not be able to recall simple facts that were just told to you or facts you once knew from a long time ago? Some individuals face disease which puts them in this exact state. Others, seemingly very healthy never exercise their memory and as the old expression goes whatever is not used is lost.

What Is Your Memory Like?

Do you find that you meet people at parties or at work and moments later forget their name? Do you believe that you can remember faces but always forget names? The human mind is trained to remember people, places and things that we get emotionally involved in. If you don't believe me I want you to think back and remember your first true love. This person might have been in your life many years ago but you still remember this person don't you? What did you have for lunch a week ago last Monday? See the difference an emotional connection makes versus something that is trivial?

How Can I Improve My Memory?

From the above example we concluded that the more emotionalized things are in your mind the more likely it will be that you will remember them. This is why when trying to memorize very dry information in school we found it challenging, there was no emotion involved. The easiest way to boost your memory is to associate what you are trying to remember with an emotional trigger.

What Is An Emotional Trigger?

An emotional trigger is a psychological tool that is used to help you remember something. Let me give you an example of an emotional trigger: recently I attended a workshop and met a lady by the name of Diva. So the question is how did I remember her name? I associated her name with the traditional meaning of the word diva and created a funny yet memorable picture in my mind of what the word diva represents. I then associated this funny picture with this nice lady. Every time I try to remember her name if I struggled the picture would come on the screen of my mind and just like magic I would remember her name.

What As Something That You Struggle To Remember?

I want you to take something that you struggle to remember perhaps the name of someone or a phone number. Now associate in name of this person with something that you find very funny and memorable. Use one of their attributes and use this as a tool to spur your imagination.

Are You Remembering Phone Numbers?

Do you realize that if I asked you to recall some of the phone numbers you have personally had over the years you could? Why is it that we have trouble remembering other numbers when they are given to us? The answer is we have not emotionalized these numbers and we rarely use them. So now the trick is how can we associate something with a stream of numbers? Let's take a random number 369-1496. To me 1496 is the year Columbus discovered America so this part of the number is easy to recall. Now the question is how do we remember 369? One way to remember this is multiples of three another way to remember this is to take the last two digits of 1496 and invert them to 69 and all I have to remember that in his 3. So my emotional trigger is Christopher Columbus came to America in 1496. The last two digits are 6 and 9 and I remember they are multiples of 3 hence 369-1496. This might not be the ideal example but I am sure you get the point.

Your memory is vitally important to your success. It is your duty to exercise your memory on a regular basis to ensure that you can maximize all information that is retained within your subconscious mind. By working on improving your memory you will strengthen it and improve your ability to recall details and facts. Memory truly is a use it or lose it skill. - 15254

What I learned about advertising online

By Rohndra Tanderly

In today's market online advertising is a must for success. Your business needs both online and offline ads to ensure growth. How will your sales grow if people cant find you and see what you have to offer?

So one simple way to start is to make sure you are marketing to only those that are interested in what you have to offer. Put yourself in your customers shoes, What words would you use to search for your item?

Google AdWords is a nice example of pay per click advertising. Some times this type of online advertising is referred to as PPC. A link is placed on a page triggered by a keyword and you only pay for this type of advert when someone clicks through to your site.

Text link advertising is another, relatively inexpensive, way to go. It allows you to a select a keyword within the text of another website to direct people to your site.

The next method is online classifieds or classified ads. These ads differ from newspaper classifieds because they are usually free and offer massive exposure. Remember find a site with online syndication or huge traffic otherwise you wont get the traffic you want.

Start today. Use these methods to start bringing cheap traffic to your website. - 15254

Never Tell Your Child We Cant Afford It Again!

By Christina Helwig

The words We Cant Afford It sets up a lack and limitation mindset in your childs psyche. They get a little achy feeling inside and never really understand why the family cant afford something. Your child will start the process of holding themselves back from things they want based on your words. This mentality also sets up lack and limitation in your own mind. You instantly cut yourself off from ideas and solutions to a cash crunch. Inside your subconscious mind you blame yourself for not being able to fulfill your childs wants and dreams. The only thing that can come out of this statement is a negative feeling: for both you and your child. I suggest that you approach these delicate situations with two tricks that will work wonders if you let them.

Helpful Hint #1: Sit Down With Your Child And Show Them Your Budget

Yes, that's right I said show them your budget. This of course infers that you actually have a budget. If you do not have a budget use a spreadsheet program and make one after you finish reading this article. Include everything you spend money on during an average month. Dont forget to average in things like hair cuts, school clothes and car insurance that you pay every few months or so. It is also very important to include fun in your budget. You spend money on movies, eating out, lattes and toys for the kids anyway right? Lastly when creating your budget include a savings plan and a cushion for unexpected items.

You might have a problem with the budget. You might already be running at a negative amount. At the very least this process will allow you to see how much in the red you are each month so that you can apply helpful hint #2 below to fill-in the gap. Your budget should be realistic and you should execute it each month. If you consistently outspend your budget in certain areas like food, you need to either stick to your plan or increase that area of spending.

Explaining A Budget To Your Child

Budgets are typically something that a child under the age of 13 might have a hard time grasping. You will need to improvise with them and put the budget into terms they can understand. Depending on their age, get a bag of M&Ms and use that to discuss the budget. Have them count the number of M&Ms in the bag and then write it on a piece of paper. Once they have done this tell them how many M&Ms you pay in rent each month. Then have your child push those into a circle on a piece of paper with rent written inside it. Continue with this process until you have worked through your budget [or a minor version of it] and have run out of M&Ms.

When it comes time to talk about the toy, lesson or other item that your child wants talk to them about how much the thing costs. Tell them that it costs X M&Ms and that for this month you have already used your M&Ms up. This sounds silly but they will understand it. Show them which categories you absolutely must put M&Ms into each month like rent, gas, and utilities. Then show them the discretionary categories that you spend in. Show them that if the family gives up cable then they can have the toy they want and vice versa. Ask your child if they prefer to have t.v. for the month or the toy etc. If you are truly struggling make the choice dramatic. But keep the game fun. Never make them feel bad for wanting to have the things they want. Tell your child they can have them but either they have to save for them or give up something else for a little while.

Helpful Hint #2: Think Up Ways You Can Afford It With Your Child

The next exercise you should do with your child is sit down and brainstorm on ways you can afford what they want. Make sure you discuss all the trade-offs involved and have them do the bulk of the work to acquire the item. This will build pride and self-confidence in your child. They also might reevaluate whether they actually want the toy in the first place. Some well placed chores to earn an allowance can get rid of the I want it, I want It syndrome that seems never ending.

Some of your brainstorming can include your child mowing lawns, doing gardening for the neighbors, completing extra chores, babysitting or otherwise taking an active role to earn money to pay for the item. You can also tell your child that you will match them dollar for dollar for any money they earn to acquire the thing they want.

Lastly, continue to discuss trade-offs that you can make. Can you cut out things from your budget that are really not helping you. Maybe eat out one less time a month or work a few extra hours of overtime? Taking these measures will not only help your child, it will help you get some breathing room in your budget so that you are not stressed and financially unstable.

Your brainstorming session should definitely include ways that you too can earn some extra money. Maybe you can joint babysit with your child and you give them a portion of the money you earn for helping. There are always people looking for help. While some jobs might not be the most desirable they get you to where you want to be and will help you provide the life you want to give your family.

Open Up to Possibility

These two processes will help you and your child think of positive ways to change a situation. Your child will learn to focus on possibility and will not focus on limitation or what they cant have. Often their little minds will come up with things you never thought of to make something work. You as a parent will have a better understanding of what is really important to them. Maybe the soccer lessons are not as much fun anymore for the child and they would rather have a new bike to play with their friends or a designer jacket to fit in better at school.

Youll never know the answers to these questions until you sit down with them and let them tell you what they want. It is critically important to discuss finances with a child at a young age. Too many of our young adults are going through college and life saddled with debt and limitations because no one wanted to talk about money when they were young. Talk about it, make it a priority and change your familys perception about money and what is possible in life. Its only when we take active steps to counter a situation that it improves and we grow. - 15254

Your Home Based Business - Part Time or Full Time Earnings

By Daton Caedea

Well, if it isn't going to happen now...it never will! Why, because we all have to make that first move, commonly known as action. Yes, I know what it is like to be in a state of inertia and thinking back on it, that concept is scary to me now.

We only have a limited short time on this planet and we are prone to wasting it, just like when we were teenagers! Don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting we spend every waking minute at the coalface but then we should not spend it on the couch either.

If we want a better life we are going to have to get up and do it ourselves. Oops, that's unless you were born with a zillion in the bank. I'm old enough to know now that if it was me no good would have come of it anyway.

Because doing it yourself not only exercises the grey matter but makes sufficiently edept to make even more money and...hang on to it and make it multiply again. Does this sound good?

Do I like merrily going off to work, in the dark, mid winter with not very nice weather and a song in my heart? Would I rather get up when I felt like it and stay there in the warm doing what I want. Which would be making a decent living (some of it while I was asleep).

In other words, doing what I want to do! No one else. Just little ol' me. There is a solid reason behind this and that is we excel in what we enjoy doing. We don't have to talk ourselves into it. We don't have to kick ourselves out of bed to do it.

This is YOUR unique project, no one else's. You did it. Because of this not only is sheer genius (he said) but you had no problem talking yourself into it! It just 'happened'.

Downtime now becomes more dynamic and enjoyable. You feel better about yourself thus your personality takes on a new vibrancy reserved only for the smug and self assured. (I'm kidding, but you get my drift).

People are attracted to you because of this. It's true. You are there as a shining positive beacon and they want to share your light that takes away the murk and gloom out of their lives.

Do successful popular people have a 'glow'. Well, you hear these stories about people and their 'auras'. I don't know. Maybe its just and emotion we have when associate with people we deeply admire.

Which leads me to what I originally set out to do here. That is to suggest and discuss various routes and devices we can use to discover what we can do...and enjoy as we do them. A Home Based Business. A voyage of discovery if you like. It's gotta be better than just drifting. You'll only bump into a reef or something and sink.

I got an idea, for instance, by searching the net for something totally unrelated to this. My point is, I was not drifting so much as trying a certain new area on the charts where I had not travelled before.

With the net, we can travel anywhere we want and do our reseach, then take action. About 15 years ago a lot of this technology was still developing and learning, (it will never stop) but we have come an awful long way since. We (you) do have the power! See you next time. - 15254

What Is The Ultimate Aim of Internet Marketing

By Larry Langi

The purpose of this marketing on the internet is that Web site is to provide an overview of the dramatic way that the Internet is impacting all aspects of marketing. Internet marketing activities are organized according to the five categories outlined in the table below. These categories represent the full scope of marketing as the discipline is most commonly defined. How marketers research and gather information about customers: How marketers make strategic decisions about each of the four elements of the marketing mix.

The product is much more than just the physical good that becomes the possession of the customer. It is everything about the purchase experience that a customer finds satisfying. When a customer buys a new computer, for example, the product consists of not only the tangible computer, monitor and cables, but also the information provided by the computer salesperson, the instruction manual, the warranty, the follow-up technical service, etc.

The Internet provides organizations with ways to greatly enhance the extent to which a given product satisfies customers. Clearly, online firms can engage in marketing activities and services that enhance their product-offerings in ways that traditional, in-store organizations cannot. The Internet will have a huge impact on how products are distributed to customers especially on the distribution of those products that can be digitized. This is because when online shoppers enter their credit card number and purchase a digital product, that product can be sent to them directly and immediately over the Internet.

Of course, all computer software is in a digital format, and thus could be sold and distributed to people directly on the Internet. Finally, computer software is not the only type of product that can be distributed via the Internet. Of course, words and pictures lend themselves to digitization; and most major newspapers and magazines already are distributed to online customers every day. Most of these are free. Internet advertising is especially powerful in its ability to target specific, appropriate segments of customers.

The Internet and related technology have already demonstrated a profound effect on the personal selling process. Salespeople today carry around laptop computers that connect them to their own company's databases when they are out on sales calls. This provides them with the ability to provide the customer with extensive, relevant information almost immediately. Via the Internet, individuals can obtain free, printable coupons from a wide variety of companies.

The Internet can potentially have a dramatic impact on the price of goods and services; however, it is debatable whether the end result will be lower or higher prices. Links to two conflicting arguments are presented below. The Internet is a communication medium that efficiently brings parties together, and thus can and does provide buyers with access to a larger number of selling firms. This should foster competition among firms and drive prices down. Because of the Internet, firms will now have to compete against other firms that were once not competitors -- perhaps because these other firms were thousands of miles away.

It is true that a firm's geographic location is practically irrelevant in cyber shopping. First, firms realize mutual dependencies, and are unlikely to engage in destructive pricing behavior. Further, consumers are willing to pay higher prices for increased selection and shopping convenience, which on-line shopping clearly provides. An important point, however, is that on-line seller generally had not yet been able to charge a premium for the differentiated goods they sell via the Internet. At the present time, prices of products bought on-line are about the same as those purchased at conventional retail stores. - 15254

Promotional Leisureweare Can Sell Your Brand

By Matthew Calvin

Promotional leisurewear has secured considerable amount of recognition amongst the surfeit of promotional products available in the market today. The crucial reason for its success is its competency in rendering excellent brand exposure. This is expected out of all promotional items, but only a few meet up to the benchmark. Promotional leisurewear showing its adroitness in this direction is thus preferred by enterprises to accrue optimal share of the audience attention.

All promotional gift companies tout their organisation as being the most competent, most extensive, and offering the most value. That's a given. And the vast numbers of the business gift companies is growing by leaps and bounds each day. Just because they're out there, doesn't mean they can cut the mustard. Once you begin your search for the proper company for your own marketing program, you'll likely decide early on which ones are the wheat and which are the chaff.

The leaders of the corporate gift business will show themselves clearly to you, demonstrating their superiority in providing double visibility, perfect rendering of your artwork via printing or embroidery, and delivery in a timely manner. Make sure you isolate these important features before choosing your representative.

The clothing range that is moulded into promotional leisurewear has flat and plain surface. This makes anything printed on them easily noticeable. What if this characteristic is further enhanced? This may be thought to be a mere conception, but can be truly achieved by dual printing of the branding components on their body. When both the frontal and the rear potion of the leisurewear are embossed with the brand identity elements, the audiences can in no way escape them. This is how the promotional leisurewear makes for exceeding brand exposure.

One of the inherent characteristics of using promotional leisurewear is that it can be introduced once into one market, and then the marketing message can be later spread amongst other towns, countries, or markets. This transit advertising is an advantage that promotional leisurewear enjoys that other promotional gifts doesn't. New audiences mean new sets of eyes and add brand awareness, and thus added value. That is a good thing. - 15254

By Craig Calvin

Team leaders need to make every effort to make certain that the conversion process is not hampered by any unnecessary reasons. If expected benefits of the project are to be realized, then the Six Sigma implementation must be seamless.

Effective planning is not just crucial for the Six Sigma projects; it can be beneficial to everyone involved in the organization. For a Six Sigma implementation to have a proper plan in place is vital. These plans should be realistic and achievable. The planning has to be such that the participation of the members involved does not hamper the daily functioning of the organization. If the plans are not effective enough, they may be extra burden added to the daily activities of the business. With proper planning and strategizing for the various stages in the Six Sigma project implementation, you will be ready to face any kind of problem that may arise. In a Six Sigma implementation the biggest risk faced is the resistance to the changes. Considering this factor, strategies have to be designed that will help to overcome or reduce such resistance. Planning should involve resources, strategizing to face the problems that may arise and having a good communication strategy for the project.

An important factor to consider is the availability of human and material resources. There must be a regular supply throughout the duration of the project and they should be readily available. Smaller companies will likely be able to have such available quickly and easily, however larger corporations may be challenged with providing logistical solutions in a timely manner. If the project is to avoid going off schedule, the resources must be available. Unavailability can cause team motivation to decline and that can affect negatively the Six Sigma implementation process.

The designing of a clear communication system from the onset must be of top priority. Forward thinking during the Six Sigma process is required at every step of the way to assure that the next step in the process will not be impeded by a lack of communication. All team members, from top management to Green, Yellow and Black Belts must participate in the communication process. Making sure all are informed at every step of the way is vital to the continuity of the Six Sigma implementation.

The entire organizaton must participate in the communication cycle if the implementation is to be a success. If any group is not included, resistance may develop and the project could go off schedule. Senior management plays a pivotal role in assuring communication lines are kept open at all times. If the business is to achieve its goals of efficiency and profitability, Six Sigma implementation must be followed closely. - 15254
